DOOMSCROLLING AKA DOOMSURFING

Dictionary.com has a list called New Words We Created Because of Coronavirus. 

Doomscrolling or doomsurfing made the list 

 Doomscrolling: The tendancy to continue to surf or scroll through bad news even though that news is sadding. - the endless scrolling down one's news apps, Twitter and social media and reading bad news. 

 While we are hard-wired and drawn to seek out the negatives to learn how to avoid dangersand survive,these are modern times. Doomscrolling can actually make you feel extra anzious, depressed and isolated. 

 How to stop?? 

 Limit your time on social media - say 15 minutes - then put your phone down and don't look at it the rest of the day.

 Look for positives - 3 things a day 

 Be nice to people. 

Do nice things for people. 

Let the person who cut you off go ahead and give them the benefit of the doubt. 

 Be mindful.

 Reach out to friends and family.

Life is not in your phone.

Life is happening all around you

Lift your eyes and heart 

Stop  Doomscrolling

I just wasn't going to give up on this old Surface.

It's so easy when everything is set up.

Emails in one spot.

How many times do you rearrange your kitchen until it works for you?

AND IT WORKS!

I am hopefully more motivated to blog now that I can open Blogger!

New Technology VS Old Technology

I think I will be saying good by to my old Surface

And I am sad.
Worked perfectly for my blog.
Emails?
No Problem!
Set up Mailchimp and .dlvt?
Sure!
Not anymore.

Support is ending for the dinosaur I own.
No more updates.
Old Explorer that no one likes and I can't get any other browser.
No Chrome.
No Firefox.
I can't webpages to open correctly.

I know I got my money out of it
BUT
I just hate getting new stuff when the old worked just fine
UNTIL
They made it where it doesn't work anymore
UNTIL
They decided you need to get a version of whatever they are selling.

Anyone out there hear me on this??!!
Upgrading, updating, or whatever you call it
Takes time!
Time I don't want to spend getting a new "whatever" set up
You know,
Set up the way I want it
Set up with logins and pages
Set up with programs
Set up with favorites

SO much time to get it where I can just type again.

I am dragging my feet right now.
I will be kicking and screaming all the way to the store.
