Grapefruit and Glucose Numbers

Do you ever wonder what a new food will do to you? Are you afraid at times to try to eat something you haven't had since your diagnosis?  Today was that day for me.  In the past I ate grapefruit like crazy. Ruby red preferably!  I haven't had grapefruit since I was confirmed diabetic. Today was the day I was going to give it a try. I made scrambled eggs with cheese and instead of toast I had 1/2 a grapefruit. Large grapefruit was not an option in my food program so I did 1/2 of a small because, trust me, the grapefruit was HUGE!!  Yummy too! Oh, just a side note, I do not add any sweetener to my grapefruit as I love the tartness. Definitely in my favor to have a sour tooth.

I woke up to a 102 mg/dl and did 30 minutes on my Precor. After the Precor, before breakfast, I was at 98 mg/dl.

Yay! Grapefruit is okay! I am doing my happy dance!
I think I'll try a whole one next time.
Keep you posted!

What foods have you tried and were surprised at the outcome??
